Villa Bastiola is located in the northern part of Umbria, right on the Tuscan border in the tiny hamlet of Comunaglia, on the side of Monte Bastiola.

The nearest village is Calzolaro (2km from the villa) with a supermarket, restaurant, bar, petrol station and a few local shops. The nearest town is Trestina (5km) where there are two supermarkets, chemist, bars & restaurants, petrol stations and wide range of shops.  There is a doctor and a dental practice in Trestina.

The villa is half way between Citta’ di Castello and Umbertide, two large, bustling Umbrian towns where you can find a range of supermarkets, shops, restaurants & bars and there is nearly always a local festa taking place, celebrating Umbrian life.

Both Citta’ di Castello (A&E department) and Umbertide have hospitals.

The lovely, family run restaurant, I Mandriani is just 5 minutes walk down the hill from the villa serving a wide range of traditional Umbrian food and the best pizza for miles.

Perugia Airport (direct flights from  London Stansted) is just half an hour by car.

Assisi, Todi, Spello, Spoleto, Perugia, Montone, Gubbio & Lake Trasimeno are all within 45 minutes – 1 hour drive from the villa, making an easy day trip.

Siena & Firenze are an hour and a half away, again possible for a long day trip.

Cortona is almost visible in the distance from the villa and takes around 45 minutes by car.  A truly gorgeous, historic, Tuscan town with a wide range of culture, shops, bars, restaurants and very importantly, amazing ice-cream!!
